Benefits of quitting smoking

It’s amazing what happens to your body when you quit smoking. Improved lung health, reduced cancer risk, better heart health, increased respiratory function, enhanced senses, improved appearance, financial savings, and overall better health – that’s just for starters. [ ref:1 ]

Giving up the cigarette and embracing a smoke-free lifestyle is one of the best things you can do for your health and well-being.

How to quit smoking

There isn’t one best way to quit smoking. Different methods work for different people. However, smoking cessation products may boost your chances of success by reducing cravings and withdrawal symptoms. [ ref:1 ]

Other tips for quitting smoking are to set a quit date, seek support from loved ones or join a support group, and stay committed to your decision. Replace smoking with healthy habits, stay active, and manage stress. [ ref:1 ]

Your treatment options

Youly Pill Packet

Nicotine Replacement Therapy (NRT)

NRT involves providing your body with low, therapeutic doses of nicotine, to reduce symptoms associated with withdrawal. Some types of NRT include lozenges, patches, inhalators, mouth sprays and gum.

Combination Therapy

This type of therapy involves utilising both a long-lasting NRT treatment and a faster-acting dispersal method to achieve successful results.

Pharmacotherapy

Pharmacotherapy is generally recommended only to those who are being treated for nicotine dependence. Products administered for pharmacotherapy act on neurotransmitters to alleviate cravings and symptoms associated with nicotine withdrawal.

FAQs about quit smoking treatment

Youly uses a secure digital health platform to provide discreet and affordable access to personalised treatments for saying goodbye to cigarettes.

After answering a few simple questions, a member of our team will assess if you’re a candidate for nicotine replacement therapy (NRT). If you’re successful, we’ll organise fast delivery to your door.

Nicotine replacement therapy is often the most effective method for quitting smoking. Your body still receives nicotine through a different dispersal method, however, it is a controlled, low-dose release that is only used for a short period to help with symptoms associated with nicotine withdrawal.

If you have a craving to smoke within 30 minutes of waking or you smoke more than ten cigarettes per day, you have likely developed a nicotine dependence. If this sounds like your daily routine, NRT is often recommended for smoking cessation. [ ref:1 ]

At Youly, we pride ourselves on providing the highest standard of care and always assess each patient on an individual basis. If a member of your medical team determines that it is not safe for you to be prescribed your treatment, or believes that you should visit a GP in person to be further assessed, you will not be issued a prescription and they will provide you with some recommendations on next steps.
